From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference.Former Queens Park Rangers manager Chris Ramsey has returned to the Championship club as technical director.
The 53-year-old was in charge as Rangers suffered relegation from the Premier League last season and was replaced by Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink after being sacked in November.
Ramsey is not expected to be responsible for duties directly involved with the first-team squad but will assist with coaching and player development.
"Whilst we were disappointed things didn't work out with Chris at first-team level, we were determined to retain his services," director of football Les Ferdinand said.
"As such, we actually put a clause in his contract which allowed us to retain Chris's services in a player-development role should things not work out for him as head coach."

QPR are languishing in 16th in the Championship table after the New Year’s Day defeat to Hull City saw their winless run in the league extended to six matches.
"Chris knows academy football inside-out and put the building blocks in place for a lot of the good restructuring work that's been done here over the past 11 months," Ferdinand added.
"He can come in and make an instant impact in an environment he has helped build."
