Championship round-up: Huddersfield keep up fine start to season with victory over Sheffield Wednesday

Huddersfield Town are showing no signs of nerves following promotion – nor are they short of goals following Jordan Rhodes' exit as they proved with a 3-1 win at Sheffield Wednesday last night.

Simon Grayson's men came out on top in a fraught encounter at Hillsborough, as both sides were reduced to 10 men. Joel Lynch of Huddersfield was handed a straight red card before the break, then Joe Mattock followed him down the tunnel in the second for two bookings.

Huddersfield have not lost since the opening day of the season, while Wednesday's last win in any competition was the League Cup victory over Fulham at the end of August.

Oliver Norwood scored Huddersfield's first on 18 minutes, before Lee Novak doubled the visitors' lead two minutes later. Reda Johnson pulled one back for Wednesday eight minutes before half-time. But Adam Clayton made sure of the win for Huddersfield with a penalty on 71 minutes.

Leicester City, meanwhile, are showing signs of recovery from their slow start with a 2-1 win over Burnley. Dean Marney fired Burnley ahead, only for Leicester to hit back after the break through David Nugent's first strike of the season and Jamie Vardy.
