Tottenham 4 Newcastle 0: Alan Pardew reveals Newcastle will look into an emergency loan for a goalkeeper in January as Jak Alnwick struggles
Both Tim Krul and Rob Elliot are out injured

Alan Pardew revealed that Newcastle United are going to pursue an emergency loan move for a goalkeeper. Jak Alnwick struggled in goal during Wednesday’s 4-0 defeat to Tottenham Hotspur and picked up a shoulder injury. With Tim Krul out until the end of January, and Rob Elliot also injured, Pardew will seek a quick reinforcement.
“It is something we are going to have to look into,” Pardew said after the game.
“There's no way a 17 year old, because that's our fourth choice [Freddie Woodman], should play at this level. Perhaps we'll talk to the Premier League tomorrow about Jak's situation.”
"I'll have to speak to the chief executive,” Pardew continued.
"The rules do allow you to have an emergency goalkeeper if you've only got one fit senior goalie and Freddie is classed a senior even though he is only 17 because he is a professional.”
Pardew was not too disappointed with the performance which he said was less bad than the result.
"If ever the cliche of goals changing games, this was it,” he said. “I thought the game was pretty even really and Jak makes the mistake on the cross. You can get away with that sometimes but it goes in and that summed up our night really. We had some big chances we didn't take.
“There were three or four key moments in the game that didn’t fall for us. It happens at this level.”
