Harry Redknapp fears Bobby Zamora could return to haunt Tottenham in tonight's FA Cup quarter-final replay with Fulham.

Zamora failed to make the grade at Spurs after moving from Brighton, where he had scored 70 goals in 117 games, for £1.5million in 2003.

Just seven months, seven starts and one league cup goal later, Zamora was used as a make-weight in the deal that took Jermain Defoe from West Ham to Tottenham.

Zamora began to fulfil his potential at Upton Park but Redknapp believes he has become "a different class" playing under Roy Hodgson at Fulham this season.

"He is a really good player. West Ham probably regret letting him go. Tottenham probably regret letting him go. He is really looking the part," said Redknapp.

"He shows well, holds the ball well and is full of confidence. He is looking a real top player. His all around game has improved, and everything has been clicking for him."

Hodgson was the first to back Zamora for an England call-up and the momentum has gathered behind the idea in recent weeks following a series of a top-class performances.

Zamora launched Fulham's stunning Europa League comeback against Juventus with the first goal at Craven Cottage last Thursday in front of England manager Fabio Capello.

"I think he has a realistic shout (of playing for England)," said Redknapp.

"Fabio was at the Juventus game and he must have been impressed with his performance. He is in the frame. He is bang in form.

"Anything can happen between now and then. One or two injuries. He is certainly not doing himself any harm."

Tottenham are set to start tonight with their own England target man in Peter Crouch alongside Eidur Gudjohnsen after Roman Pavlyuchenko suffered a hamstring injury.

At stake is a Wembley semi-final against Portsmouth and Redknapp knows from watching Fulham against Juventus just how tough a task Tottenham face.

"I was fortunate enough to be there. It was one of the great European performances of all time," said Redknapp.

"It was a fantastic night, a great atmosphere and a great performance from Fulham.

"The players watched it at home and the next day they were talking about it. We have so much respect for Fulham. This is one of the toughest games we could pick.

"He has built a very good team there and it will be mighty tough for us."
