The Championship side had their chances in the first-half and eventually took the lead at the start of the second. Ashley Fletcher took advantage of Eric Dier’s abysmal attempt to play the offside trap, striding forward and slotting the ball beyond Paulo Gazzaniga.
But Spurs got back into the game when Lucas Moura headed home Serge Aurier’s pinpoint cross.
Both sides had chances to win the game but it ended level after Aurier spurned a fine attempt to send Spurs through, blazing over the bar from inside the penalty box.
