Philippe Coutinho will definitely miss the game after being stretchered off in tears with his ankle in a brace during the Reds’ 2-0 win over Sunderland.
The Brazilian will have a scan on Monday to ascertain the extent of the damage but could be out until January.
Coutinho’s compatriot Roberto Firmino also limped off during the weekend victory following a kick to his calf, while Daniel Sturridge and Adam Lallana missed the game completely with groin and calf problems respectively.
Neither have reported for training this week and are definitely out of the League Cup tie.
Klopp said: “We have to wait for the final scan [on Coutinho], and we have to take it like it is.
"The best thing would be for Coutinho to not be out but it is not really likely. We will know more this afternoon.
"Adam Lallana is close to being back in training but he won’t be ready.
"Lallana is in a very good way, close to team training but not ready for Leeds.
“Sturridge isn’t in training and we will have to wait on Firmino. We will have to see how he is after training today.
"We need to have a look at the players. We need to listen and figure if the players are ready or not. We can't take risks."
