From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Prices have been set at a flat rate of £15 for adults and £5 for young adults, with kids paying just £1 for the tie on Tuesday 4 February at 7:45pm at Anfield.
The move comes after Tottenham released their prices for their own FA Cup replay with Southampton, upsetting the away fans by charging £25 per ticket, despite away fans at St Mary's paying £10.
"Since Sunday’s result, we have been in discussions with Shrewsbury Town on the price points for next week’s replay at Anfield," said a Liverpool statement. We have also been in discussions with supporters groups as part of our regular fan forum process
"The feedback from supporters is to create a pricing structure that’s fair and, in particular, focused on young people. The prices have been set at a flat rate of £15 for adults, £5 for young adults and just £1 for kids
"Shrewsbury Town and our supporters groups who we’ve been working with are in agreement that these prices are fair for this FA Cup replay. We thank both Shrewsbury Town, supporters groups and other supporters for their input into these discussions."
