From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. The tie was among five all Premier League encounters drawn on Monday evening. Those other fixtures are Watford vs Newcastle, Tottenham vs Leicester, Southampton vs Crystal Palace and Norwich vs Manchester City.
Salford City, the team co-owned by members of Manchester United's class of 92 and the lowliest team in the draw will be at home to Championship side Derby County if they come through their second round replay against Hartlepool.
Eastleigh, the only non-league side guaranteed to be in the Third Round, are at home to Bolton, who sit bottom of the Championship.
The other two non-league sides in the draw were Whitehawk, who if win their replay with Dagenham have a plum tie away against Everton and Grimsby, who will play Cardiff if they beat Shrewsbury in the Second Round.
Among the favourites to win the FA Cup are Manchester United, who are at home to Sheffield United. Liverpool have an interesting looking tie away against Exeter. Meanwhile troubled Chelsea will be at home against either Leyton Orient or Scunthorpe.
The ties are to be played between January 8 and 11.
