From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

The FA Cup semi-finalists are now confirmed following Manchester United's 2-1 win over West Ham in their sixth round replay at Upton Park.

Goals from Marcus Rashford and Marouane Fellaini were enough to send Louis van Gaal's side through, despite James Tomkins late goal for the hosts.

Manchester United will take on Everton in the first of the two semi-finals at Wembley. They will meet on Saturday April 23, with the match kicking off at 5.15pm.

On Sunday April 24 Crystal Palace play Watford in the other semi-final. That match kicks off at 4pm.

The winners of the two semi-finals will meet in the final at Wembley on Saturday May 21.

Manchester United have won the FA Cup 11 times in their history, but not since 2004. Their opponents Everton have lifted the trophy five times.

Neither Crystal Palace or Watford have ever won the competition - but both have made one previous appearance in the final. Crystal Palace were beaten by Manchester United in 1990 after a replay was required. Watford lost 2-0 to Everton in 1984.
