Smith headed the 0's in front after 35 minutes but Swans levelled on half-time when Cedric van der Gun nodded in Joe Allen's cross. Jones kept the O's in it with smart saves until, with two minutes left, substitute M'Poku crossed low and hard and Swans centre-half Alan Tate sliced the ball into his own net.
"I'm very proud we have got to the last 16 of the FA Cup," Slade said. "It's a great competition, especially for lower league sides." He reserved special praise for Jones in "a good defensive display." A great shame only 6,281 witnessed it.
Birmingham City clawed back a two-goal deficit to reach the Carling Cup final at St Andrews in midweek and had to repeat the feat to reach the Fifth round of the FA Cup. Coventry City of the Championship were 2-0 ahead after 26 minutes thanks to Marlon King and Richard Wood, but David Bentley, on his debut after a loan move from Spurs, made it 2-1. Goals after the hour from Stuart Parnaby and Kevin Phillips sealed the Blues' recovery and 3-2 win.
Bolton and Wigan are roughly 10 miles apart and there was just as little to separate them on the Reebok pitch where it finished 0-0. Hereford sniffed glory at Sheffield Wednesday, Stuart Fleetwood giving them a ninth minute lead. Darren Potter equalised but the match turned in the 68th minute. The Bulls' Joe Heath was sent off for a foul on Clinton Morrison, who scored the first of his two penalties in the Owls' 4-1 win.
Elsewhere
No goals at all as leaders Queen's Park Rangers drew 0-0 at Hull City and Norwich City went second after a 0-0 draw at Crystal Palace.
