The FA Cup has scrapped replays for the 2020/21 season to "ease pressure" on the football calendar following the coronavirus pandemic.

The competition, which will start with the extra preliminary round on 1 September, has also cut its prize money back.

While the final for next year's competition is due to be played on 15 May 2021.

A statement read: "In order to assist in easing pressure on the football schedule, there will be no replays for the 2020-21 season.

"After two seasons of record levels of prize funds, the Emirates FA Cup prize fund has returned back in line with 2017-18 levels due to the financial impact of the COVID-19 pandemic."

The EFL Cup will also have only one-legged ties throughout the competition.

The winners will pick up £1.8m, half of last season's £3.6m jackpot, which Arsenal claimed.

The EFL Cup final is slated for 28 February 2021.
