From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

In a repeat of last year’s semi-final clash, Manchester City and Chelsea meet again in the FA Cup fifth round at the Etihad on Saturday evening.

Last year saw City come through victorious with a 2-1 win to take them to Wembley where they would go on to suffer a shock defeat to Wigan.

Since then, Jose Mourinho has come back to Stamford Bridge and brought a more solid defence to Chelsea, as was proven in the Blue’s recent 1-0 victory over City in the league.

With both teams still fighting on three fronts (Man City four with the League Cup final against Sunderland still to come) expect to see some changes to the line-ups but given the squads that both sides have at their disposal, the quality shouldn’t diminish too much.

Whichever team win in Manchester on Saturday will be firm favourites to go all the way and win the trophy in May and it will give the victor confidence going into the run in for the Premier League title as well.
