Juan Mata has challenged his Chelsea team-mates to prove the club are serious about winning trophies when they meet Leeds in the Capital One Cup tomorrow.

Rafael Benitez's team have endured defeat in the Club World Cup against Corinthians and a gruelling flight from Japan ahead of the quarter-final at Elland Road.

Mata said: "We know the history of Chelsea and Leeds. They are always difficult games, competitive between supporters.

"We want to win this competition. Chelsea are a big club and we want to win all the trophies."
