It's Everton who have been on top in the early stages of the game, managing six touches inside the opposition box, but they must be wary of the threat of Brighton on the counter-attack. Dyche will likely be the happier of the two managers with the Seagulls a little sloppy at the back.

Brighton are able to commit men forward after Keane gives it away and the Seagulls counter. Minteh drives into the box, but his pass into the penalty area is deflected behind for a corner. Milner delivers towards Dunk, but his header flies into the stands behind the goal.

Wieffer commits a foul on Iroegbunam in a dangerous position, and Everton have thrown plenty of bodies forward for the free-kick. McNeil is standing over it and he floats a delivery towards the back post, but Tarkowski can't keep his header down. It's over the bar and behind for a goal-kick.

Excellent move from Everton! Calvert-Lewin finds Gueye inside the box and he produces a clever flick which falls to the feet of Harrison. He cuts onto his left once again, but he can't quite connect with his shot properly and it's comfortably wide of the post.

Off the post! Joao Pedro finds himself in space on the edge of the Everton penalty area, and he shifts it onto his right foot before sending a powerful shot towards the bottom corner. Pickford is beaten, but it rebounds off the post and away from danger!

Brighton want a penalty! Joao Pedro goes down inside the box as Tarkowski is dispossessed. The Brazilian forward flings himself to the ground and the Brighton players appeal, but the referee is having none of it.

SAVED! Tarkowski plays an excellent long-range pass to the right touchline, and Harrison controls it perfectly before cutting inside onto his stronger foot. He sends a whipping strike towards the top corner, but Steele produces a strong save before it's put behind for a corner.

Mitoma receives the ball on the left-hand side and quickly darts past Young before driving towards the byline. Iroegbunam comes across and produces a superb sliding challenge, deflecting off the Brighton winger and out for a goal-kick. The fans show their appreciation for the new signing.
