The incident is said to have occurred as Fabregas departed the Parc des Princes in the tunnel area after his side had lost to the Parisian giants 2-1 in the Champions League round-of-16 first-leg on Tuesday night.
Chelsea players were aggrieved at Ibrahimovic for several comments made to them by the Sweden international on the pitch as Laurent Blanc’s side took a narrow advantage in the tie.
Goals by the former Barcelona striker and Edinson Cavani gave the hosts victory but John Obi Mikel’s away goal gives Guus Hiddink, the Blues' interim boss, hope ahead of the return leg.
Susana Guasch, a Spanish reporter for native broadcaster Antena 3, tweeted: “Run-in between Ibra and Cesc on leaving the stadium. He said: ‘you spoke too much today’. Fabregas asked him for explanations.
“But Ibra pretended not to hear. And they took Cesc away so that it did not escalate any further.”
Speaking to the British media after the match, Ibrahimovic hinted that he could be persuaded to join a Premier League side in future. “Big things will happen, so let’s see what happens. Let’s just say I am in shape [for the Premier League].
“I think Chelsea is a fantastic team, because they are not doing as well as they normally do in the Premier League, it doesn’t mean it is a weak team, it is a strong team.
“They have fantastic players and we knew it wouldn’t be easy.”
