Neymar was involved in a heated exchange with a Manchester City supporter last night after Barcelona's 2-1 Champions league round of 16 win at the Etihad Stadium.

The argument began when the Brazilian forward was substituted off, with the City fan sitting near the dugout making a 'diving' gesture at the player.

Neymar then returned to clash with the fan at the end of the game, before stewards stepped in to tell the supporter, who was speaking Portuguese, to "Stop it".

Neymar was asked about the incident after the match, and said that he was just "playing" with the fan who was "mocking" him.

"I was just playing with him," the 23-year-old said. "He began to curse me and I ended up mocking him."

The forward did not reveal what the fan had said to him, however.

"What he told me? I can not repeat it, no. My mother gave me an education. What his mother did not tell him, my mother taught me."
