From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Eliaquim Mangala: Man City’s problems in central defence have been well publicised and are perhaps the primary reason the English team will enter this tie as underdogs.
Vincent Kompany’s has been ruled out as his injury woes continue and Man City will need Mangala to begin to justify a transfer fee which makes him the second most expensive defender in history. Only PSG’s David Luiz cost more.

Remember when…
The last time PSG faced English opposition at this stage in the Champions League they defeated Chelsea 3-1 in the first leg at the Parc des Princes. Unfortunately for the French side, Chelsea would go on to overturn that result with a 2-0 victory at Stamford Bridge.
Player to watch…
Zlatan Ibrahimovic: The Swedish hit man is in scintillating form, scoring eight goals in his last four and netting home and away against Chelsea in the round of 16. Given Man City’s defensive issues, Zlatan will fancy his chances of adding to his European tally in Wednesday’s first-leg.
