Liverpool face a battle to qualify for the knockout round of the Champions League after losing 2-1 against PSG in the penultimate match of their group.
Napoli lead Group C on nine points, PSG trail in second on eight while Liverpool have six, which means that Jurgen Klopp’s side must beat the Italians when they visit Anfield in a couple of weeks to stand any chance of qualifying for the next round.
James Milner gave Liverpool a lifeline just before half-time with his penalty conversion to half the deficit created by Juan Bernat and Neymar ’s early efforts, but the visitors could not find an equalising goal in the second half.
