Paris Saint-Germain affirmed themselves as group winners with a 5-1 win over Istanbul Basaksehir after the game was halted on Tuesday following an allegation of racism from a match official toward a member of the Turkish side’s staff.

The game restarted from the 14th minute after the suspension and just five minutes later PSG were ahead through Neymar’s brilliant curled shot.

Basaksehir had a few moments of danger, but looked vulnerable to the counter and Kylian Mbappe played in Neymar to double the lead in that precise fashion - before one minute later Mitchel Bakker netted, had it ruled out for offside, saw play brought back for a foul one touch earlier and a penalty given instead - which Mbappe scored.

After the break it remained absurdly open, with Neymar smashing in his third, Mehmet Topal deflecting in a consolation for Basaksehir and Mbappe tapping in his second - all within 17 minutes of the restart.

Here are the player ratings for PSG from the match.

PSG

Keylor Navas - 7. Nothing he could do about the deflected goal but made a couple of other saves.

Marquinhos - 7. Played out easily under no pressure from the back.

Danilo - 6. Still looks awkward when sat deeper than his usual midfield role.

Presnel Kimpembe - 7. Straight-forward game on the left of the back three.

Alessandro Florenzi - 7. An easy outlet for his team though didn’t deliver too much quality in the final third.

Leandro Paredes - 7. Some nice link-up play and got forward to good effect around the edge of the box.

Marco Verratti - 8. Controlled the middle of the park with a good first touch, excellent reading of the game and his excellent passing range.

Rafinha - 7. Full of clever passing. Makes a good case for more regular inclusion, though was subbed at the break.

Mitchel Bakker - 7. Disappointed to not be awarded his goal but was a useful outlet for the team at left wing-back.

Neymar Jr - 9. Scored three, won the penalty and was generally far too good for Basaksehir’s defence to deal with.

Kylian Mbappe - 7. Some great touches and pieces of skill, but also wasted a couple of chances to score more than the two he notched.

Subs

Angel Di Maria - 7. On at the break, immediately set up Mbappe.

Thilo Kehrer - 6. Didn’t have much to do.

Timothee Pembele - n/a. Gains a little more experience.

Abdou Diallo - n/a. Covered at the back for the final 10 minutes.

Idrissa Gueye - n/a. Just a short run-out.
