Not only has the centre-back scored an absolute belter for his AC Milan side in the International Champions Cup, he did it against fierce rivals AC Milan.
The France international has shown a habit for goal of the season contenders in the past, having scored a brilliant bicycle kick against Barcelona in last season’s Champions League. But this one surpasses that and then some.
With the rather dull match locked at 0-0 after an hour, Milan midfielder Giacomo Bonaventura delivered a corner that looked miles off target and over everyone who were in the box.
However, nobody had counted on picking up Mexes, who was steaming in unopposed from some way back. The 33-year-old was exactly nimble at the best of times, but he acrobatically leapt into the air and hammered the ball goal-bound while almost horizontal in the air. The ball shot past Inter goalkeeper Juan Carrizo and nearly tore a hole through the net, such was the power of the strike.

Mexes has only come on at the break after replacing former Chelsea defender Alex, and the match finished 1-0 to the red and black half of Milan.
