The 45-year-old will leave the Allianz Arena this summer after a three-year spell with the Bundesliga side, which has seen him pick up two league titles and one domestic cup so far.
Guardiola is now looking to find new rivalries outside of the Bundesliga which, as he told Sport1, will spur him on to become a better coach.
"You've done everything after three, four years [at a club]," he said.
"You need enemies to get better. And you need new challenges to get better, always new challenges."
The highest-profile rival that Guardiola has faced during his time in Germany is former Borussia Dortmund manager Jurgen Klopp, who has now taken charge at Liverpool. The pair shared an amicable relationship and a mutual respect while competing in the Bundesliga.
With the Spaniard likely to move to one of Manchester City, Manchester United or Chelsea in the summer, he is almost certain to face Klopp again when he enters the third phase of his managerial career.
Earlier this month, the former Barcelona head coach made his intention to move to England clear and revealed that he had already received several “offers” from Premier League clubs.
"I want to coach in Premier League. That is the reason I did not prolong my contract," he told a news conference.
“I need a new challenge and would like to take the opportunity to be a coach in England," he added.
“I want to experience the atmosphere there. I’m 44, it’s the right moment to go there. I want new stadiums, cities and restaurants to know.
"There are offers, but I haven’t signed anything yet," he said. "If I have a new club, they’ll communicate it.”
