Former Manchester United midfielder Paul Scholes believes Juventus manager Max Allegri should leave Paul Pogba out of the starting line-up even if he is fit for the second leg.

The French midfielder has not played since Juventus knocked Borussia Dortmund out of the Champions League with a 3-0 win in Germany on 18 March.

Although Pogba is one of Juve's best players, The Independent columnist Scholes does not think he should start in the Bernabeu.

"I think it would be a little bit rookie to bring Pogba back straight from injury," said Scholes on ITV.

"Juventus can afford to rest players at the weekend after winning the league."

Andrea Pirlo, Claudio Marchisio and Arturo Vidal were extremely impressive for the home side, dominating Real Madrid's midfield trio of Isco, Toni Kroos and Sergio Ramos.

The second leg takes place in Madrid on Wednesday, 13 May.
