Daniel Bravo: Former France international describes Nuno da Costa’s goal as ‘not bad for a black guy’ following Moise Kean race storm

The former PSG midfielder made the comment during the Ligue 1 match between Strasbourg and Reims

In the wake of the Moise Kean race storm, former France international Daniel Bravo has come under fire after praising Nuno da Costa’s goal as being “not bad for a black guy.”

A pundit for beIN Sports, Bravo stunned viewers with his racist comments in Strasbourg’s 4-0 victory over Reims.

The incident comes just hours after Leonardo Bonucci controversially claimed Kean was “50-50 to blame” after being racially abused by Cagliari supporters.

Bravo, 56, who won the European Championship with Les Bleus in 1984, was forced into a grovelling apology, with his broadcaster following.

A statement from the broadcaster read: “beIN SPORTS and its consultant apologise for the remarks made during the Strasbourg – Reims match, which can be considered shocking and are counter to the values advocated by the channel and its editorial staff.

“beIN SPORTS recalls that it fights against all forms of discrimination, in particular racism, and promotes diversity, equality and respect through all its broadcasts.”

Bravo then met with Da Costa to apologise in person, with the player accepting and posing for a picture.

The player also wrote on social media: “No worries, a slip of the tongue happens, he works too much! beIN SPORTS, stop the games in the middle of the week please.”

Bonucci criticised Kean for his celebration in front of the Cagliari supporters, insisting he could have “done something differently.”

“Kean knows that when he scores a goal, he has to focus on celebrating with his teammates. He knows he could’ve done something differently too,” Bonucci told Sky Sport Italia.

“There were racist jeers after the goal, Blaise heard it and was angered. I think the blame is 50-50, because Moise shouldn’t have done that and the Curva should not have reacted that way.”
