Mohamed Salah told Jurgen Klopp that he feels “fine” after going off in Liverpool’s sensational 3-0 Champions League win over Manchester City with what appeared a groin injury, the German revealed in the wake of full-time.

Nonetheless, Klopp’s reassuring words for supporters were tempered by the caveat that Liverpool still “have to wait for the real diagnosis”.

Salah continued his sensational form to score the opening goal on a special night, but pulled up shortly after half-time. He then signalled to the bench that he wasn’t feeling fully comfortable.

“Mo I don’t know he comes to the sideline and says he feels something and that is enough for me to ask the doc,” Klopp said.

Salah appeared to be holding his groin, although Klopp revealed that the Egyptian felt better after the match.

“After the game I ask him and he said ‘I feel good, I feel fine’, so now we have to wait until the real diagnosis.”

For the second leg, Klopp will also have to make do without the suspended Jordan Henderson.

“Since I am here, there is nothing good without a bit bad. Hendo is suspended, for 85 minutes, three players involved, he goes down, yellow card, not too cool.”
