From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. AC Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani has categorically denied reports that coach Carlo Ancelotti is on his way to Real Madrid at the end of the season.

The Italian tactician is believed to be the number one choice of the Spanish side to take the coaching reins when, if expected, Florentino Perez returns as president in the summer.

But Galliani claims the Rossoneri are determined to keep hold of the former Juventus coach.

"Ancelotti will stay at Milan 99.99 per cent," Galliani told Corriere Dello Sport.

"I am not worried about Ancelotti to Real Madrid. Perez is a good friend of mine and he would never do such a thing without telling me first.

"All this attention means Ancelotti is the right coach for Milan and we were correct in bringing him in."

Lazio goalkeeper Juan Pablo Carrizo has hit out at a lack of first-team opportunities since joining the Rome club last summer.

The 24-year-old Argentina international lost his starting place to Uruguayan Fernando Muslera earlier in the season and has threatened to quit the club unless he is given more game time.

"I can't understand," he said. "If I am not playing because I made mistakes then I can improve, but if I am not playing for some other reason then it's better if I leave.

"If this situation does not change before June, I will make other choices.

"People left on the bench often get angry with the coach but I don't want to.

"I only want to be given the chance to show him he was wrong by my performances on the pitch."

Meanwhile, Sampdoria midfielder Angelo Palombo has ruled out the possibility of a summer switch to Juventus.

The 27-year-old Italy international has been widely linked with the Turin giants throughout the season, but the former Fiorentina youngster is happy to stay at the Luigi Ferraris.

"It pleases me that my form is proving to be of some interest to other clubs, but I am happy at Sampdoria," he said.

"I do not want to leave this club."
