From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. Wayne Rooney remains Manchester United's lead striker for tonight's Champions League play-off second leg tie with Club Brugge.

The United skipper has gone 10 club games without a goal but retains his place for the game in Belgium.

It means Marouane Fellaini must make do with a place on the bench despite his goal in the 3-1 first-leg win for United.

Meanwhile, Ander Herrera comes in for his first start of the season, with Morgan Schneiderlin having to make do with a place on the bench. That is the only change from the first leg.

Memphis Depay, who scored two goals in the first leg, therfore remains in the side.

Louis van Gaal left Real Madrid target David de Gea out of his squad for the trip to Belgium.

Defenders Phil Jones (thrombosis) and Marcos Rojo (lacking match fitness) were eft at home, as were Jonny Evans, Tyler Blackett, Antonio Valencia, Jesse Lingard, Andreas Pereira, James Wilson and Anders Lindegaard.

Mannchester United team: Romero; Darmian, Smalling, Blind, Shaw; Herrera, Carrick; Mata, Januzaj, Memphis; Rooney

Subs: Johnstone, McNair, Schneiderlin, Schweinsteiger, Young, Fellaini, Chicharito.
