Paul Pogba could return for Manchester United's Champions League clash with Istanbul Basaksehir after training with the rest of first team squad on Monday.

Pogba was absent from United's matchday squad for the visit of West Bromwich Albion at the weekend after picking up a minor injury while on international duty.

The 27-year-old suffered a knock in France's Nations League win over Sweden and failed to complete a training session at United's Carrington base upon his return to Manchester.

Pogba came through training on Monday morning and will be assessed before the Group H evening kick-off against Basaksehir on Tuesday night.

"We hope he's going to be available," Ole Gunnar Solskjaer said. "He trained this morning. We'll see if there's any reaction when we report tomorrow."

Solskjaer will be without Jesse Lingard having revealed that the United midfielder is self-isolating after coming into contact with someone who has tested positive for coronavirus.

Luke Shaw remains absent with a hamstring injury which could sideline him for up to six weeks.

"I hope nearer to four [weeks out] but with a recurrence of hamstring injuries you can't risk anything and he's still not training with us," Solskjaer said.

"We'll see how he reacts to the programme he's on and to the rehab work. Hopefully it's near four but probably nearer five or six."
