Liverpool won their sixth European Cup on Saturday night, beating Tottenham Hotspur 2-0 at the Wanda Metropolitano in Madrid, and earned Klopp his first trophy with the club in the process.
Mané has been one of Liverpool’s stand-out performers this year and contributed hugely to their 97-point finish in the Premier League.
Though that tally was a club record, it did not prove enough to finish above reigning champions Manchester City, who pipped Liverpool to the league title by one point.
After their success in Madrid, Mané believes he and his team-mates must keep improving, and has his sights set on a league and European double.
“For sure, I think it’s the start of something special like everybody mentioned because last year we were close and this season we won it,” he said.
“So, next year [we go] for the league and Champions League. We know it will not be easy but we are Liverpool, we are strong, we will do everything and we still have a young team.
“We will keep learning and working hard to get more trophies.”
Mané was one of many players to start for Liverpool on Saturday night who also suffered defeat in the 2018 final to Real Madrid in Kiev.
When asked whether that disappointment had helped fuel their charge this year, he said: “I think so. I think last year was not easy. It was really, really hard but that's football. That makes people love football.
“We have learned a lot this year, so we're just really happy. The lesson we learned is in many ways, in many things. We've got more experience and at the same time we're used to playing this type of game. It made it easier today.
“To be honest I think the dream became true. I don't even know how happy I am, I could not believe until now. I think I'm still dreaming! But at the end of the day I won, so really happy.”
