Anfield is currently preparing to host a European tie for the first time since the quarter-final against Manchester City earlier this month.
City’s team bus received a hostile reception from Liverpool supporters on its way into the ground that night, with bottles, cans and pyrotechnics thrown at the vehicle by fans lining the streets.
The bus was left unfit for purpose and Pep Guardiola’s side were forced to travel back to Manchester in a different vehicle following their 3-0 defeat.
Liverpool eventually progressed to the last four with a 5-1 aggregate victory, thanks in part to the first-leg atmosphere created by the Anfield crowd.
Klopp wants to see more of the same inside the stadium against Roma, but asked for no repeat of the pre-match scenes that marred the victory over City.
“In the stadium, do it again, outside the stadium please show the respect we have to show,” he said on Monday. ”This is such a fantastic club, an outstanding football family, known for a fantastic atmosphere all over the world so we don’t need to throw whatever at the bus of the opponent team.
“If we can do what we did creating an atmosphere in front of the stadium then let’s do it but show the respect they deserve. We are opponents on the pitch.
“Everyone knows what a wonderful city Rome is, not everyone knows how wonderful Liverpool is and if we can show how wonderful Liverpool people are and the city and the spirit of the club we can show it in 20 minutes before the game and then the whole world knows it.
“I really think all the people who are with LFC deserve that, that we show that face.”
