Leicester will begin their Europa League group-stage campaign against Zorya later this month after Uefa confirmed the fixtures for the first six rounds of the competition.

Leicester were in pot 2 and were drawn in Group G of the tournament in Switzerland on Friday, alongside opponents S.C. Braga, AEK Athens and Zorya Luhansk.

This season’s edition of the tournament marks Leicester’s debut in the competition, with their last European venture coming in the 2016/17 Champions League – for which they qualified after winning the Premier League before being eliminated by Atletico Madrid in the last eight.
Portuguese outfit Braga were runners-up to Porto in the 2011 Europa League, Athens last appeared in the tournament in 2017/18 – reaching the round of 32 before exiting despite not having suffered a defeat in the competition – and Zorya having taken part in qualifiers for the Europa League in the last seven straight seasons, reaching the group stage three times, including this term.

Matchday 1 of the group stage takes place on 22 October, with the second round of fixtures following on 29 October, when Leicester will play AEK Athens.

There are two more matchdays in November, the first coming on 5 November and seeing Brendan Rodgers’ side take on Braga, and the second following on 26 November as the Premier League club come up play Braga but this time in Portugal.

December brings around the conclusion of the group stage, with matchdays on 3 and 10 December. On the former date, Leicester play Zorya, before finishing their group campaign against AEK Athens at the King Power.

Should Rodgers’ men make it through the group, they will have a keen eye on the last-32 draw, which will take place on 14 December.
