From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. A classic Italian 1-0 victory saw Juventus stole top spot in Group D during an exciting end-to-end clash with Man City. Thanks to Mönchengladbach’s victory against Sevilla, both teams will qualify.

With their first win of the group stage, Mönchengladbach may yet qualify for the Europa League, coming off the bottom of the table for the first time this year.

If the German side can hold on against City in December, or if Sevilla are ineffectual against Juventus, they will claim third place.

Alex Sandro played architect in the first half, pumping multiple great crosses into the box before one found Mario Mandžukić, who was more than happy to tap it in from six yards out.

No other goals to speak of, but a second half peppered with chances kept the action alive.
