From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

It’s a big game for…

Arturo Vidal: The Chilean has netted just three times for Bayern Munich this season, but will look to add to that tally when he faces his former club, Juventus, who he left last summer. After four years with Juve, Vidal will look to help his Bayern side to an away win, before returning to the Allianz Arena. The 28-year-old has made 32 appearances for the Bavarians this campaign.

6: Bayern Munich have scored six goals in their last two visits to Turin, with former Bayern striker Mario Mandzukic on the score sheet for the German outfit last time these two sides met in Italy for the quarter-final second leg in 2013.

Bayern put two past Juventus in Turin to ease through to the Champions League semi-finals 4-0 on aggregate, as they went on to be crowned champions.

Robert Lewandowski: The second-highest scorer in this year’s Champions League has a tough task ahead of him in Turin, as Juventus are yet to concede at home in the competition. But with 32 goals in 32 appearances for the Bayern this campaign, he is the visitors’ best chance of defeating Juve’s resilient defence. The £75 million striker has five goals in his last three games.
