Ivan Rakitic scored a stunning strike at Wembley as Barcelona extended their lead over Tottenham in some style.

There have been some amazing individual Champions League goals scored over the years and this was right up there with the best.

As Philippe Countinho bumped the ball out towards the edge of the box, Rakitic came forwards, leapt up into the air and connected with the bouncing ball while both feet were off the ground.

The technique was sublime and the placement was perfect, as the ball crashed against Hugo Lloris’s right post and into the Spurs net.

Our reporter Jack Pitt-Brooke described the goal as one of the best finishes he’s ever seen live, and it’s fair to say plenty on social media held a similar view – even a few Tottenham fans.
