Rangers welcome Standard Liege to Ibrox in the Europa League on Thursday night as Steven Gerrard’s team aim to secure their place in the knockout stages of the competition.

The Scottish side lead Group D on eight points – the same number as Benfica but with a better goal difference – and a win here would guarantee their spot in the last 32.

Meanwhile, Liege are bottom of the group – level on three points with Lech Poznan but with a worse goal difference. Anything other than a victory at Ibrox will see the Belgian outfit crash out of the tournament, but – given their 2-0 home defeat by Rangers in their competition opener – they seem to be facing a tough task.

Here’s everything you need to know about the Europa League game.

When is it?

How can I watch it?

The game will air live on BT Sport 3. Subscribers can also stream it live on the BT Sport website and app.

What is the team news?

Rangers will be without defender Filip Helander, who has tested positive for coronavirus. In midfield, Joe Aribo and Ryan Jack look set to miss out with knocks.

For Liege, striker Obbi Oulare is serving a suspension following his red card against Lech Poznan.

Predicted line-ups

Rangers: McGregor; Tavernier, Goldson, Balogun, Barasic; Kamara, Davies, Arfield; Hagi, Morelos, Kent

Liege: Bodart; Fai, Dussenne, Bokadi, Laifis, Gavory; Raskin, Cimirot, Bastian; Lestienne, Balikwisha

Odds

Rangers: 2/5

Draw: 4/1

Liege: 6/1

Prediction

Rangers will be motivated to qualify for the next round, but Liege should put up a fight when one considers they must win here to avoid elimination. Expect ‘Gers’ quality to prove too much for Liege’s spirit, though. Rangers 2-1 Liege.
