Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference.Just four days after leaving Manchester United left back Luke Shaw with a double fracture in his leg, PSV defender Hector Moreno was at it again.
Moreno, who scored and was named official man of the match by Uefa, left Heracles midfielder Oussama Tannane limping off the pitch after a knee-high tackle on Sunday.
The Mexican defender apologised to Shaw in the aftermath of the defeat, although revealed that he didn't think it was a bad tackle, and even visited the England defender in hospital after the match.
But Moreno's latest incident, a knee-high studs up tackle after arriving late to a loose ball, left Heracles midfielder Tannane furious and even mentioned the Shaw incident.
"He came with his outstretched leg on to my knee. If that's not a card, I don't know what is," said the Moroccan-born midfielder to De Telegraaf.
"I do not know if it was conscious, but he was just too late. I thought it was a disgraceful offence. Moreno also knows what he did last week."
