Tottenham made seven changes to their team for tonight’s Europa League clash against Fiorentina, leaving out top scorer Harry Kane.

Kane, who has 24 goals this season, was again left on the bench for a game in which Spurs need to score to have any chance of advancing to the last 16 of this competition, after a 1-1 draw in last week’s first leg at White Hart Lane.

With this team selection, Mauricio Pochettino appears to have made Sunday’s Capital One Cup final against Chelsea a priority, as Kyle Walker, Ryan Mason and Danny Rose were also left out along with Kane.

Hugo Lloris, Jan Vertonghen, Nabil Bentaleb and Erik Lamela are the only survivors from the team that started last Sunday’s 2-2 home draw with West Ham, as playmaker Christian Eriksen was brought into the side.

Tottenham starting XI: Lloris; Chiriches, Fazio, Vertonghen, Davies; Bentaleb, Stambouli; Chadli, Eriksen, Lamela; Soldado

Subs: Vorm, Rose, Walker, Mason, Paulinho, Townsend, Kane.

Fiorentina: Neto, Richards, Basanta, Savic, Alonso, Fernandez, Pizarro, Badelj, Joaquin, Gomez, Salah

Subs: Lezzerini, Rodriguez, Aquilani, Pasqual, El Babacar, Tomovic, Ilicic.
