After his £50m move to Chelsea, Fernando Torres took 14 appearances to score his first goal.

Thankfully for the Spaniard things haven't taken quite so long at his new club AC Milan, where he is currently on a two-year loan from the Blues.

Following his switch from Liverpool during the 2011 January transfer window Torres would only score one solitary goal for his new club all season. The dreadful start to his Stamford Bridge career is often cited as a possible reason for his generally disappointing time in west London.

Perhaps a quicker start in Italy could galvanise his career.

Torres came on as a sub at the weekend although he was unable to help AC Milan come back from 1-0 down against Juventus. Last night, Torres was played from the start although his new club found themselves two goals behind to Empoli. But in the Serie A meeting Torres began a comeback with a wonderful looping header after 43 minutes.

Japanese playmaker Keisuke Honda equalised for Milan in the 58th minute before Torres was replaced with nine minutes remaining with the score finishing 2-2 at Stadio Carlo Castellani.
