From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

Jose Mourinho will not be complaining with Manchester United’s Europa League draw, as they are dealt the rather short trip to France to face Saint-Etienne.

United could have been sent anywhere in eastern Europe which could have accumulated around a 10-hour round trip, which would have been sure to impact their Premier League push.

Instead they will travel to the south of France in what will only be around a two and a half hour flight, with only an hour time difference.

It will be a special trip for world-record signing Paul Pogba and his family as he comes up against his older brother Florentin.

Tottenham Hotspur will be equally pleased with their relatively short trip to Belgium to face AA Gent after their European schedule moved to Thursday nights.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side will fancy their chances of progressing, to the last 16, although they will continue to play their home games at Wembley, where they have had some trouble adapting so far.

All first-leg last-32 ties will take place on Thursday 16th February, with the return leg scheduled for the following week on Thursday 23rd February.
