Cristiano Ronaldo as heralded Paris Saint-Germain forward Kylian Mbappé as “the present and future” of football.

Mbappé burst onto the scene while helping Monaco to an unlikely Ligue 1 victory and is now firmly established as one of the greatest players in the world.

He moved to PSG in 2017 and has since scored 84 goals in 116 appearances for the French side, winning two more Ligue 1 titles.

The 21-year-old also won the Best Young Player award at the 2018 World Cup as France beat Croatia in the final to lift the trophy.

Ronaldo, 35, is no stranger to silverware and the Juventus forward has praised his younger counterpart as the future of the men’s game.
