Cristiano Ronaldo’s new celebration against Atletico Madrid on Saturday night sent the internet into overdrive as sports fans from across the world trolled the Real Madrid star.

The 31-year-old bagged a hat-trick and after scoring his second, the Portuguese crouched down and held his chin to pose in front of a camera.

The player was widely mocked across the internet for his new celebration, with hilarious photoshopped images of Ronaldo popping up all over the net, but he can’t have expected his own son to get in on the action.

Not wanting to miss out, Ronaldo Jnr and his friends posed alongside the footballer as they took a photo of themselves holding their chins.

Ronaldo has never been one to allow people to mock him but in this instance he took his son’s antics in good faith, posting the photo to his Instagram account with the caption: “The boys make fun of me.”

Ronaldo’s hat-trick heroics against Diego Simeone’s side helped maintain Madrid’s four point lead at the top of La Liga after 12 games into the season.

Zinedine Zidane’s men face Sporting Lisbon away on Tuesday in the Champions League and will be hoping to hit back following their 3-3 draw with Legia Warsaw two weeks ago.
