From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

It was Groundhog Day for Arsenal and Bayern Munich as they were again paired together in the Champions League knock-out stages.

Arsenal topped their group for the first time in five seasons but were still unable to avoid Bayern, who finished second in their own group behind Atletico Madrid.

It will be fourth time in the last five years the Gunners have faced the German champions and three of those times have been in the last 16 of the tournament.

Arsenal have a record of two wins, three defeats and a draw in those games but have never progressed ahead of them.

Meanwhile, Premier League champions Leicester were rewarded for qualifying top with a tie against Europa League champions Sevilla, which is one of the better draws Claudio Ranieri’s side could have hoped for.

The Foxes were the last team to be drawn but Manchester City were the first out of the pot and got an equally favourable draw against Monaco, arguably the weakest of the group winners, despite knocking out Tottenham.

Some of the other stand-out ties include Barcelona vs Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid vs Napoli.

First legs will be played February 14th, 15th, 21st and 22nd with the second legs to follow on March 7th, 8th, 14th and 15th.
