Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference. After the Champions League semi-final draw today, Twitter exploded with the prospect of the 'Pep final' - with a potential conflict of interest for Pep Guardiola if Manchester City face his side Bayern Munich in the final.
City take on Real Madrid in the semi-final, while Bayern face Atletico Madrid. Should both teams progress, a very interesting situation will present itself.
Guardiola will, of course, become City manager in the summer, ending his three-year spell with Bayern.
Ciry are currently in fourth place in the Premier League, four points ahead of rivals Manchester United who sit in fifth.
If City finish fifth or lower in the Premier League and then meet Bayern in the final, victory for Guardiola would mean denying himself Champions League football next season when he takes over at City.
HERE IS SOME OF THE BEST REACTION
The first-legs of the semi-finals will be the 27/28 April, the second-legs on the week of the 3/4 May. The final takes place on 28 May in Milan.
