The Ataturk Stadium in Turkey looked more like a slow number at a stadium rock gig tonight after fans waved their mobile phones in the air during the black-out in the Europa League tie between Besiktas and Tottenham.

There were only eight minutes of play gone in the game, which was 0-0 at the time of the floodlight failure.

After a 15 minute delay, the match re-started.

Farcically, play was halted by another power failure in stoppage time.

Again, the players were forced down the tunnel for an enforced break with the Turkish side leading 1-0.

Besiktas eventually won the game by 1-0, meaning they finish top of Group C at Spurs' expense.
