Juventus, meanwhile, beat Internazionale 2-1 on Saturday at San Siro, to keep their nine-point lead at the top of Serie A.
Lionel Messi lines up for Barcelona against David Beckham's Paris Saint-Germain on the same night fresh from becoming the first player to score against every other La Liga team consecutively as Barça beat Celta Vigo 2-1. PSG warmed up for the home leg by beating reigning Ligue 1 champions Montpellier 1-0 on Friday, to extend their lead at the top to seven points.
