Tickets for Liverpool’s Champions League semi-final first leg in Barcelona are being advertised for as much as €4,000 (£3,451) on resale websites only hours after Barcelona’s allocation officially went on sale on Thursday morning.
The Barcelona website advertises tickets from €119 (£103) and VIP tickets starting at €955 (£824) for home fans, but it is expected that many Liverpool fans will have bought those tickets after their away allocation of 4,620 seats quickly sold out.
Liverpool have subsidised away tickets after Barcelona priced them at €119, contributing €31 (£27) per ticket to reduce the fee per fan to €88 (£76).
However, tickets have quickly appeared on websites such as StubHub, where category one seats are listed for €4,000 and VIP tickets are being offered for more than €8,000. The cheapest pair of tickets on the website are listed at a total of €600 (£518).
The first leg will be played on Wednesday 1 May ahead of the return at Anfield on Tuesday 7 May.
