Arsenal dominated Galatasaray at the Emirates, with Danny Welbeck scoring an excellent hat-trick during a comfortable victory.

Arsene Wenger would have been delighted with the performance of his team, bar one moment of pointless madness from goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny, who was sent off in giving away a penalty.

But Welbeck was the star of the night, playing the lone striker role to perfection. Not only did he take all three of his goals perfectly, the England man was a constant menace to Galatasaray's defenders, never giving them a moment's peace.

Alexis Sanchez got on the scoresheet and also pulled strings for the Gunners, as did Mesut Ozil, while Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain was a driving force from the centre of midfield.

The defence, led by stand-in captain Per Mertesacker, weathered late pressure when down to 10 men.
