Bordeaux are set to take disciplinary against forward Malcom after his part in a video posted on social media following the side’s 2-0 defeat by Caen on Tuesday night.

Malcom and his Brazilian team-mates Cafu and Otavio were criticised for a “lack of maturity, solidarity and respect” after being filmed by a friend in the wake of the defeat.

The players can be seen smiling and laughing in the video, which was posted on Instagram before being swiftly taken down.

Bordeaux fans have reacted angrily to the incident, with the club currently sat in 13th in Ligue 1 and in danger of slipping into the relegation play-off spot.

A run of just two wins in 15 matches, which has seen exits from the Coupe de la Ligue and Coupe de France, has led to reports manager Jocelyn Gourvennec will be replaced by Michel Preud'homme.

A statement released by Bordeaux said: “FC Girondins de Bordeaux summons three players for a disciplinary interview.

“The club strongly condemns the video published Tuesday night on social networks at the exit of Matmut Atlantique by relatives of Cafu, Malcom and Otavio.

"Faced with this lack of maturity, solidarity and respect towards the institution and all its components, FC Girondins de Bordeaux will summon the three players mentioned as soon as possible, for a disciplinary interview.”

This comes amid increasing speculation linking Malcom with a move to Arsenal as the north Londoners prepare to lose Alexis Sanchez to Manchester United.

The 20-year-old, who played the full 90 minutes in Bordeaux’s defeat last night, is understood to be open to a move to north London.

The Ligue 1 side has stood firm in the face of such interest, though, with owner Nicolas de Tavernost recently insisting that the youngster “will not be leaving”.

President Stephane Martin also claimed that reports surrounding Malcom’s future were “nothing but hot air”.

“They can always try, but they will struggle to take him from us,” he said.
