Liverpool completed a difficult week with a frustrating 0-0 draw at Crystal Palace that did little to enhance their prospects of finishing in the Premier League’s top four.
Thrashed 5-2 at home by Real Madrid in the Champions League on Tuesday, Jurgen Klopp’s side laboured against a Palace side who well deserved their point.
Liverpool moved up a place to seventh in the table, six points behind fourth-placed Tottenham Hotspur. Without a win in eight league games, Palace are 12th, six points above the relegation zone.
Mohamed Salah hit the woodwork for Liverpool in the second half but Palace had two gilt-edged chances in the first period with Marc Guehi heading wide and Jean-Philippe Mateta firing a shot against the crossbar.

The free-kick is just inside the D for Liverpool, and both Salah and Alexander-Arnold are standing over it. Guaita is taking his time to set up the wall and the referee has to keep reminding Palace to get behind the line.

OFF THE POST! Robertson curls a free-kick in, and it's flicked away from Van Dijk by Andersen, only to fall to Matip at the far post. He nods it back across goal and Jota tries his luck from a tight angle, only to see his header smack the woodwork.

Doucoure sticks out a leg to take Alisson's clearance away from Jota. Olise latches onto it, but he was coming back from an offside position, and the flag ends the attack.

SAVE! Robertson's cross is cleared by Guehi in the middle, and it bounces out to the edge of the box. Jota runs onto it, striking it on the volley, but it bounces straight into Guaita's gloves.

Salah's pass into Milner is intercepted and Doucoure sets Palace on the counter. Schlupp makes a good run down the left before curling a cross to the edge of the box, but Jota makes a great recovering run to cut it out.
