This year sees Manchester City try to defend their crown and claim a historic fourth title in succession. Pep Guardiola’s all-conquering City, who also won the Champions League and FA Cup last season, will have to see off Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester United, Liverpool and the rest to claim an unprecedented sixth league title in seven years.
Meanwhile Luton Town are making their first appearance in the Premier League, having risen from non-league in an incredible decade of progress. They followed Championship winners Burnley and second-placed Sheffield United in earning promotion to the top flight.

Ayew bursts down the right with the ball and evades Ream before chipping a cross into the box. However, it has too much height on it and is too close to Leno, allowing the goalkeeper to make a simple catch.

There is a short stop to the game after a heavy challenge from Hughes on Willian. The former Chelsea man goes down holding his foot before getting back to his feet.

Schlupp wins a late corner off of Palhinha, who stops him from moving into the box. Andersen dives across to get onto the end of Eze's cross, but he cannot direct the ball towards the goal.

Castagne flashes a low cross into Palace's box, but nobody is there to attack it and Johnstone comes out to dive on the ball.

WIDE! Palace's first chance of the game comes through Eze. The England international receives the ball on the edge of the box and runs past Reed before curling his strike just wide of the post.

Pereira fakes a cross before launching a deep free-kick into Palace's box. Diop leaps in the air to get on the end of it, but the ball hits the top of his head and goes out for a goal-kick.

Cordova-Reid wins possession inside Palace's half and attempts to drive forward with the ball. He originally escapes Mitchell before being fouled by the left-back, who is shown a yellow card.

Robinson attempts to slide an incisive pass down the left channel to Pereira, but Andersen gets in the way. Pereira then fouls the centre-back before going down after a slight nudge off the ball. The home fans then show their displeasure.
