From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Welcome to our live coverage of tonight's Champions League Group D clash between Borussia Monchengladbach and Manchester City.

• The visitors will once again be without Fabian Delph, Gael Clichy, Eliaquim Mangala and Vincent Kompany, who are all injured

Yaya Toure, David Silva, Joe Hart and Pablo Zabaleta have all travelled and trained with the first team on Tuesday

• Wilfried Bony, however, is a doubt for Manuel Pellegrini's side who suffered a 2-1 defeat in their opening group game against Juventus

• City followed the setback against Juventus with back-to-back league defeats against West Ham United and Tottenham Hotspur

• Gladbach also lost their opening group game, going down to a 3-0 defeat against Sevilla, but have bounced back with consecutive league victories

• Lucien Favre, who led Gladbach to third place in the league last season, resigned five days after the Sevilla loss. His replacement is Andre Schubert.

• No English club has ever beaten the Bundesliga side in their own stadium

• City, meanwhile, have lost three of their four trips to Germany in the Champions League
